Management Contract for Al Yarmouk Water Company

AquaTreat has recently been awarded the Management Contract for Al Yarmouk Water Company in a Joint Venture with Veolia Water MENA, called Veolia Aqua Jordan. The objective is to provide management services to the Al Yarmouk Water Company (a limited liability company owned by WAJ, the Water Authority of Jordan). This is a five year contract which is extendable twice for a period of two years each. The Contract was signed on June 30th, 2011.

Al Yarmouk Water Company is the utility responsible for providing water and wastewater services to the Northern Governorates of the Kingdom of Jordan (Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash and Mafraq) with a population of around 1,650,000 inhabitants.

Veolia Aqua Jordan will be managing the 1,600 employees of YWC, under the direction of the board, with a combination of long and short term experts in all aspects of the water and wastewater cycles.

The contract is a performance based contract and remuneration includes variable components directly related to the increase in water sales, operating cash flow, energy savings and continuity of supply.

The Contract is partially financed by KFW (Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau).
